I’m not very tall and I don’t really have the looks or body type to be a model, so imagine my delight when I got to ‘model’ and test some revolutionary high performance men’s athletic underwear whilst doing the thing that actually like – running.
Swing shift from 2UNDR promised to offer the best comfort, fit and style man has ever experienced. Perfection, in your pants – how cool that I would get to sample a pair and I really couldn’t wait to try them out as soon as the postman delivered the parcel.
About the Product:
Using the most advanced construction techniques and materials, the 2UNDR™ range provides more support than a standard brief with the best fit, comfort and style man has ever experienced. Taking inspiration from the kangaroo-pouch, 2UNDR™ features the unique and revolutionary “The Joey Pouch” to separate a man’s most valuable assets from bodily contact to reduce unwanted skin-on-skin contact, providing less chafing, more control and an altogether more luxurious feel. The innovative design also delivers improved airflow keeping you cool when involved in strenuous activity or simply going about a busy day.
Very nicely packaged, before choosing my sample I had a look through the 2UNDR™ range on their website www.2undr.eu and did think that, for pants, they were quite pricey (£19.99 pair)..I choose the ‘Swing Shift 3″ Trunk but on opening the package I could tell that these were quite extravagant and I only needed to slip them on to understand that they really were worth every penny. An incredibly comfortable fit with a very lush, luxury feel. Really couldn’t wait to try them out in the race that night.
A 5.2m Trail/Fell race in the Staffordshire Moorlands which included 640ft of climb up, down and across cow pastures, woodland trails, tracks and roads. It was early July and quite a warm, humid evening. A race where the wrong choice, or even no underwear without some sort of protection/lube, would ultimately lead to chafing. A great race to see if the product lived up to its claims.
A brilliant fit and very comfortable, they really did caress the skin and I barely noticed they were there. Just before the start I made sure I was tucked into “The Joey Pouch” but I needn’t have done, these trunks just seemed to fit perfectly, and naturally. On with the race. Quite a fast start as the first couple of miles were downhill/flat and it was becoming quite warm. Usually, at this stage, I’d be ‘fixing’ my underwear to prevent it rubbing. Didn’t have to do that with these, not once. Despite the fact that the humid conditions made for a sweaty runner, I felt incredibly cool ‘down there’.
It was indeed, as promised, quite a tough race in parts..but I ran well and was very pleased with my time. I’m pretty certain that wearing the 2UNDR™ trunks helped me concentrate much more on my running. I got dirty, I got sweaty and – with a little rain halfway through the race, got them wet too…but they still maintained an incredibly fresh feel throughout the race..and at the pub afterwards, no rubbing, no chafing…just sheer bliss.
My new go-to choice for ‘runderwear’
Seriously, I’m going to invest in a few pair of these now. Especially for some of the longer runs I have planned later this year. I really will be giving them a thorough testing in the High Peak 40 (miles) race in September. If you suffer from discomfort or chafing when you run then invest in a couple of pairs of something from the 2UNDR™ range..I promise, you’ll be very satisfied with your purchase. As I write this I’m fast approaching my birthday – guess what’s on my wish list?
